MARCELO BARRAGAN - ESPACIOS

Marcelo Barragán es un pintor Abstracto.

Trabaja con materiales tradicionales, como óleos sobre tela y papel consiguiendo una obra personal y con un carácter intemporal...

Aborda en sus cuadros la búsqueda de "Espacios" que si bien no existen en la realidad, no dejan de sugerir al espectador una parte de algo conocido.

Un viaje a un mundo microscópico donde la materia pasa a ser la propia memoria de la persona que contempla la obra, formas esenciales que son como recuerdos profundos e íntimos que el autor hubiera conocido y es capaz de dejar al descubierto.

Marcelo Barragán presentará sus últimos trabajos en una exposición que ha llamado "ESPACIOS", en ArteArtesania, del 7 al 26 de Agosto.

CURRICULUM VITAE

Marcelo Barragán creció, aprendió y vivió el arte en el seno de una familia de artistas.

Su padre, Julio Barragán y su tío Luis, ambos reconocidos pintores argentinos, su tío Mauricio Lasansky, grabador, su madre Nieves, ceramista, dibujante y escultora, y finalmente su hermano Claudio, pintor y escultor. Todos ellos le transmitieron el amor y la pasión por el trabajo artístico.

1979- Expone y obtiene una mención en el Concurso de Pintura DAR Propiedades, en la galería Arthea de Buenos Aires.

1980- Expone en la Casa de la Cultura de Avellaneda de la República Argentina.

Obtiene Mención Especial en el Concurso de Pintura y Dibujo de la Fundación Givré de Buenos Aires.

Expone en el LXIX Salón Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la República Argentina.

1981-Expone en el LXX Salón Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la República Argentina.

1982-Expone en la galería Perla Marino en Miramar, República Argentina.

Seleccionado para participar en el Concurso Premio Braque 1982, del Gobierno Francés en el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires.

Exposición individual en la Galería Braque de Buenos Aires.

Desde 1982 se dedica también profesionalmente a la música, como clarinetista y saxofonista.

Forma parte de la Orquesta de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, de la Orquesta de la

Universidad Católica Argentina, del Quinteto de Vientos y del Cuarteto de Clarinetes del Conservatorio J. J. Castro de Buenos Aires, y del grupo Cuatro Vientos con los que viaja por América, Europa y EEUU.

Desde 2013 vive en Barcelona y vuelve a dedicarse ¨full-time¨ a la pintura.

SPACES

I'm interested in conventional materials and their development: oil, pencil, colour, stain, detail, expressiveness, the momentum and the struggle between them.

Rather than looking for the image, I let the material suggest it to me, through its struggle and development. Through the intuitive stain, the exaggerated detail.

I draw, but it is the colour who is in charge, who sets the limits.

My pieces are not finished until nothing in them upsets me, until everything in it finds its place in the conventional chaotic harmony.

I paint like I am. I go with the flow.

I trust my intuition and work, but I never know where I'm going.

RESUMÉ

Marcelo Barragán grew up, learned and lived the art within a family of artists.

His father, Julio Barragán and his uncle Luis are both renowned Argentine painter; his uncle Mauricio Lasansky, an engraver; his mother Nieves, a ceramist, illustrator and sculptor; and finally his brother Claudio, a painter and sculptor. They all transmitted their love and passion for art to him.

1979 - Exhibits and gets a mention in the Concurso de Pintura DAR Propiedades, in the Arthea Gallery of Buenos Aires.

1980 - Exhibition at the House of Culture of Avellaneda in Argentina.

Gets a special mention in the Concurso de Pintura y Dibujo of the Givré Foundation of Buenos Aires.

Exhibits at the LXIX National Exhibition of Fine Arts of Argentina.

1981 - Exhibition at the LXX National Exhibition of Fine Arts of Argentina.

1982 - Exhibition at the Perla Marino Gallery in Miramar, Argentina.

Selected to participate in the Premio Braque 1982 award, from the French government at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires.

Solo exhibition at the Braque Gallery of Buenos Aires.

He has also worked as a musician since 1982, as a professional clarinetist and saxophonist.

He is part of the University of Buenos Aires' Orchestra, the Catholic University of Argentina's Orchestra, the wind quintet and clarinet quartet of the JJ Castro Conservatory of Buenos Aires, and of the Cuatro Vientos collective with which he has traveled America, Europe and the US.

He moved to Barcelona in 2013 and has since gone back 'full time' to painting.
